Useful Information
Admission - Discharge - Payments
Patient admission is handled at the Secretary's Office of each department. The doctor's opinion and the insurance booklet of the patient are both required. If the patient is insured with a specific health care provider, the cost of their hospitalization will be fully covered, in accordance with the legislation in force with regard to public hospitals. If the patient is uninsured, they have to pay the cost of their hospitalization according to the prices set forth in the GG in force for public hospitals. Certain insurance funds demand the contribution of the insured party for the payment of the cost of their hospitalization.
The patient may request an upgrade of their designated type of hospital accommodation (better accommodation than the one they are entitled to) by paying the extra cost. In any case, it is necessary to discuss your request with the Secretary's Office of the respective Department or the Patient Administration Office. Payments are only made at the Hospital's Accounting Department, which also issues the respective receipts. Consequently, direct payments to any person, who may request them, is considered illegal and should be reported and prosecuted.
Discharge slips are issued by each department's Secretary Office during working days from 08:00 am to 3:00 pm.
